A fully competent Data Center Onsite Controls Technician – Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete Controls and Building automation systems platforms such as EPMS (Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems), BAS Systems (Building Automation Systems), or BMS System (Building Monitor Systems) in a data center environment – testing and operations. Responsible for programming, integration, implementation commissioning, maintaining and providing emergency support on critical controls systems onsite.

They will troubleshoot, install, and make upgrades to existing automation systems for power and cooling systems in a live, mission‑critical environment. They will assist in complete startup, commissioning, and validation procedures of these systems. They will collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering / Design teams, Software Development teams, Project Managers, Construction Contractors, Equipment Vendors, Field Techs and other Site Operations teams to ensure the reliability, proper operations, acceptance of new and modified installations, automations and software solutions.

Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete BMS, BAS, EPMS – coding, testing and operations.

• Conduct critical facilities Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program analysis and reporting
• Work with all vendors to ensure compliance with company guidelines and policies
• Oversee all change management and controls system upgrades while maintaining 100% uptime on all existing equipment
• Coordinate with Design/Construction Teams
• Review commissioning process for new construction and retrofits as it pertains to control processes and SOPS
• Assess, recommend and implement industry best practices into new and existing Critical Environment Programs.
• Take ownership of all QC / Quality Control of hardware installs
• Provide feedback to senior management for the continuous improvement of the Critical Environments program
• Repair and Troubleshoot controls systems and hardware (relays, controllers, etc)
• Develop process documentation and training materials
• Direct and monitor subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling, resource management and coordination of construction and start‑up services as needed. Construction trades generally include various electrical, mechanical and equipment suppliers
• Install and wire BAS controllers and field devices including low voltage cable terminations
• Installation Coordination of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems
• Plan site activities for your team including organize job site materials, logistics, inventory, tools storage and security / access
• Lead installation teams on daily and weekly meetings
• Support the development and execution of additional services through change orders
• Cutover panels and systems in retrofit projects
• Develop and Implement Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for site activities
• Provide input to project team on developing RFIs, estimating and takeoffs for proposals
• Performs commissioning focused design reviews, prepares commissioning test procedures and reports, coordinates and oversees on‑site testing, Startup, Commissioning and Closeout of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems
• Assist software lead with pre‑functional and functional testing
• Execute troubleshooting of BAS systems including corrective actions
• Participate in commissioning efforts with external stakeholders
• Analyze system operation, work with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work
