Position SummaryWe’re seeking a hands‑on Safety Professional to support field and plant operations across our construction materials facilities. This role partners closely with leaders and frontline teams to drive a proactive safety culture, reduce risk through inspections and coaching, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who builds trust, solves problems pragmatically, and is energized by time spent in active industrial environments.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
Support day-to-day safety activities, ensuring consistent application of company safety standards.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and observations to identify hazards and reduce risks.
Provide coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors on safe work practices and procedures.
Assist with incident response, investigations (root cause analysis), documentation, and follow-up corrective actions.
Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and ongoing safety communications.
Track and analyze leading and lagging indicators, support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively with teams at all levels.
Strong awareness of safety principles, regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA/MSHA/provincial), and risk reduction strategies.
Skill in identifying hazards, solving problems, and recommending practical, field‑ready solutions.
Capability to support incident investigations, documentation, and corrective action follow up.
Commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture through coaching and engagement.
2–5 years of safety experience in construction materials, heavy industrial, aggregates, cement, concrete, mining, or related environments (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
Working knowledge of job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA), lockout/tagout, mobile equipment safety, confined space, working at heights, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST or OHST a plus.
Experience delivering training and facilitating safety meetings.
Familiarity with cement, aggregates, or ready‑mix operations.
This role works in both office and field settings, including active industrial or construction environments. The position requires regular travel between sites, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs/ladders, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
