Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Kent Place School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician for a night‑shift position. The successful candidate will possess strong prior experience in apartment and school campus maintenance to fill the Maintenance Technician position at Kent Place School. As a maintenance technician, you will, alongside your coworkers, be responsible for troubleshooting service issues on our school campus, including HVAC, general appliance work, carpentry, painting, and plumbing.

Technician job preference will be given to applicants with a mechanical background.

Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

• Use of building automation systems to oversee and modify HVAC systems, conduct regular inspections, and perform preventative maintenance
• Wiring fixtures, as well as maintenance/testing of smoke detectors, knowledge of fire alarms, receptacles, switches, light fixtures, fuses, and circuit breakers.
• Replacing plumbing fixtures, baseboard units, and valves; cleaning drains; installing/replacing toilets and sinks.
• Manage all facility‑related vendors, addressing escalated issues, and monitor the quality of work performed by contracted cleaning services
• Able to perform all aspects of maintenance, such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical.
• Preparing units for turnover.
• Perform all event set‑ups and break‑downs for school functions
• All other duties as needed or assigned

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a school setting.
• Experience in general building repairs (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Participate in on‑call rotation to ensure 24‑hour emergency maintenance service and response
• Previous job experience:
  Property Maintenance, Contractors, Construction workers, hotel management maintenance
• Ability to lift, bend, and pull more than 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with power tools, facility‑related equipment, and general carpentry/handyman work (e.g., repairing/replacing door hardware, painting).
• In‑depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Experience using work order systems (preferred)
