Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126 bed, private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, located in suburban Summit, NJ, fully accredited (by the Joint Commission), has been providing quality health care to adult, child and adolescent northeastern USA residents, since 1902. We are seeking highly motivated medical nurse practitioners to work 20 hours per week from 6:00pm-11:00pm and be on‑call from 11:00pm-8:00am. Duties include making patient rounds, reviewing charts, accepting patient admissions, revising medication orders, and responding to in‑house emergencies.

Job Summary: A CRNP will function in the expanded role as a professional nurse, performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician licensed to practice medicine in this State. The primary responsibilities will include performing H&P’s as per hospital guidelines, assisting physicians in the care and treatment of patients within licensure guidelines, and consultation as needed per hospital guidelines.

- Effectively handles crisis situations in a non‑challenging manner using communications and mannerisms intended to de‑escalate the situation.
- On an as‑needed basis handles evaluation and treatment of inpatients for changes in medical and/or psychiatric condition and provides acute care or triage as appropriate. Interventions are based on scientific principles, theoretical knowledge and clinical expertise. Works within scope of licensure and certification.
- Assist physicians in completing discharge summaries in a timely manner.
- Assists the unit staff in crisis situations and keeps CPI/Handle with Care Training up to date.
