Overview
Exceptional Opportunity for a Vice President General Counsel with a dynamic and growing manufacturing organization. In this high-impact role, you will lead all legal and compliance functions across international operations, serving as the chief legal advisor to executive leadership. You’ll oversee corporate governance, contracts, risk management, HR compliance, and more, while also managing a small, dedicated HR team. Lead cross-border legal strategy, drive operational compliance, and influence business decisions at the highest level, with a flexible hybrid work environment after onboarding.
The total compensation for this role is up to $261k yearly, excluding bonus. The total comp, excluding bonus, consists of a base salary of up to $240k yearly, plus an additional $21k in vehicle allowance. There are additional benefits available, including up to 75% paid health insurance. There is no relocation assistance available for this role.
General Counsel Qualifications Include, But Are Not Limited To- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in the U.S.
- New Jersey Bar Admission is required.
- 10–15 years of progressive legal experience, with a strong foundation in corporate law and compliance
- Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including NDAs and commercial agreements
- Solid knowledge of employment law, ERISA, and benefit plan administration
- Expertise in regulatory compliance (OSHA, EEO, etc.)
- Experience advising on international operations and multi-jurisdictional legal matters
- Familiarity with risk management, insurance procurement, and corporate governance
- Experience managing HR professionals
- Litigation management experience and comfort working with outside counsel
- Exposure to intellectual property and license agreement drafting is a plus
- Leading legal strategy, compliance, and risk mitigation efforts across international operations
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts and commercial agreements
- Managing all litigation matters, including product liability, employment, and environmental cases
- Overseeing HR as well as employee benefit plans and ensuring full ERISA compliance
- Developing HR policies, supporting employee relations, and supervising HR staff
- Determining and managing global insurance coverage, including employee benefits, product liability, and property
- Supporting special projects such as M&A due diligence, customer bankruptcies, and complex dispute resolution
- Leading corporate governance initiatives and serving as Corporate Secretary
- Coordinating with local counsel and regulatory bodies in multiple jurisdictions
