Colony Tire is currently seeking a skilled, full-time Off-The-Road (OTR) Tire Technician to join our team. SummaryThe OTR Tire Technician is responsible for performing tire service, repair, and maintenance on off-the-road equipment including construction, earthmoving, mining, and agricultural equipment. This position may also perform other duties as assigned by management. This role offers an industry-leading hourly plus commission pay structure.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities- Maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the position and meet commercial driver qualification requirements; CDL required
- Operate a 30,000-pound GVW OTR service boom truck
- Inspect tires and wheels before and after service following established procedures
- Diagnose tire conditions and determine repairability
- Perform tire repairs in accordance with company and safety standards
- Review work orders and communicate job details with supervisors
- Accurately document all work performed per company policy
- Operate heavy-duty tire service equipment including boom cranes, jacks, cribbing, compressors, and hydraulic/electric tools
- Unbolt and re-bolt wheels using hand and power tools
- Mount and dismount all types of off-the-road tires, including multi-piece rims
- Match dual tire assemblies correctly
- Inflate tires to proper specifications based on size, ply, and load requirements
- Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects
- Participate in rotating on-call service, including nights and weekends
- Maintain assigned service vehicle, tools, and onboard equipment in proper working condition and appearance
- Comply with all OSHA and MSHA safety regulations and company safety policies

Tool Proficiency: Ability to recognize and safely use various hand and power tools
Equipment Operation: Experience operating vehicles and mechanized equipment
Physical Activity: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, balancing, and handling materials

This position regularly involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and loud noise levels. Work is performed at Colony Tire locations, customer sites, and service call locations. Employees should expect exposure to heat and cold. The role requires regularly lifting up to 100 pounds and frequently moving more than 100 pounds. While minor injuries may occur, adherence to safety practices significantly reduces risk.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Related experience, OTR service training, and certifications are preferred but not required.
