Overall responsibility - assist lead pipe layer in the correct and safe installation of the pipe in the trench.
Specific tasks:
* Using shovel for movement of soil and rock to place pipe on correct grade and/or location.
* Install fittings as required.
* Assist in bolting up of fittings, valves, hydrants, etc.
* Wrapping pipe if needed.
* Hooking and/or strapping pipe.
* Taking care of and using small tools properly.
* Keep watch on trench for safety.
