MUSC Children’s Health After Hours Care Nexton is a pediatric outpatient clinic that falls under the Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital ing the day, we host a variety of pediatric subspecialists such as pediatric pulmonary, GI, endocrinology, ENT, and cardiology. In addition to that, we provide a walk-in After Hours Care, which is a direct extension of our pediatric emergency department to serve our community during the hours when most pediatricians are closed.

Job Description

This position requires working two 8-hour shifts per week in after hours, including every other weekends.

• Day Clinic Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• After hours Monday - Friday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Weekends & Holidays: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Responsible for quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice. Duties to include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures.

LPN Minimum Training and Education
:
Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. One year of LPN experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing (Continuous); sitting (Continuous); walking (Continuous); climb stairs (Infrequent); indoors/outdoors (Continuous/Infrequent); work from elevated areas (Frequent); work in confined/cramped spaces (Frequent); kneeling (Infrequent); bend/twist (Continuous/Frequent); reach, lift, and handle objects as specified below. The role requires various lifting and force exertion up to 50 lbs, good vision and hearing, fine and gross motor skills, and ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
