Overview
MUSC Children’s Health After Hours Care Nexton is a pediatric outpatient clinic that falls under the Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital ing the day, we host a variety of pediatric subspecialists such as pediatric pulmonary, GI, endocrinology, ENT, and cardiology to name a few. In addition to that, we provide a walk-in After Hours Care, which is a direct extension of our pediatric emergency department to serve our community during the hours when most pediatricians are closed.

This position requires working three 8-hour shifts per week in after hours, including every other weekend.
Hours Of Operation- Day Clinic Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- After hours Monday - Friday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Weekends & Holidays: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Job DescriptionResponsible for quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice. Duties to include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures.
LPN Minimum Training and EducationGraduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. One year of LPN experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an AHA recognized equivalent or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
AdditionalJob Description
Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program with six months of patient care experience required. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. A current CPR card is required; either an AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card. Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient centered care philosophy as evidenced by effective communications skills, professional demeanor, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability and motivation to articulate and support departmental philosophy of excellent guest relations. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be computer literate. Current AHA BLS or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
