SUMMARY :
To create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom; to motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to ensure that effective learning occurs for each child, every day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Skills- Teaches District-approved drama, theatre, and speech curriculum aligned with state standards.
- Prepares and plans engaging lessons that incorporate performance, public speaking, analysis, and creative expression.
- Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, rehearsals, productions, and projects.
- Implements a variety of effective instructional strategies, including performance-based learning, collaborative activities, rehearsals, critiques, and presentations.
- Demonstrates competent knowledge of drama, theatre history, acting techniques, speech, and performance. Uses a variety of instructional materials and resources, including scripts, performances, technology, and multimedia.
- Uses instructional and rehearsal time effectively. Motivates students to develop confidence, creativity, and effective communication skills.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with students. Provides timely evaluative feedback on performances, speeches, projects, and written work.

- Organizes classroom, rehearsal, and performance spaces to promote learning, safety, and creativity.
- Establishes and maintains standards of behavior appropriate for classroom, rehearsal, and performance settings.
- Manages student behavior constructively and promotes collaboration and respect.

Interpersonal Relations
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students.

Professional Responsibilities
- Participates in professional development related to theatre, speech, and instructional practices.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching, theatre arts, and student involvement.
- Follows policies and procedures of the school district.
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day, including rehearsals and performances as required.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Prepares necessary materials and plans for substitutes.
- Maintains confidentiality and unquestionable integrity.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises students during class, rehearsals, performances, and related activities, as well as volunteers, paraprofessionals, or student interns as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in area of major study.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals consistent with the position.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, and the general public.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret educational assessments
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply that knowledge to scoring and interpretation of assessments.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a large amount of information.
