We are actively seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect for a DoD Intelligence program in the National Capital Region.
Job SummaryThe Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for performing systems management and integration functions within the customer’s environment.
Key Responsibilities- Understand and document specific system requirements from clients and staff.
- Create plans and designs for complex computer systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Evaluate and recommend suitable system components, including hardware, software, and other technologies, based on factors like cost, portability, and performance.
- Direct or support the installation, configuration, and integration of operating systems, network, and application software.
- Oversee ongoing maintenance operations, monitor system performance, and implement necessary upgrades or fixes.
- Implement security measures, conduct security analyses, and ensure the system complies with industry and regulatory standards.
- Create comprehensive documentation for system architecture, design specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues and provide technical support to users and development teams.
- Verify system stability, scalability, interoperability, and performance under various operating conditions.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to staff and stakeholders on design concepts and project changes.
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, networking, and cloud technologies.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and evaluate system performance.
- Effective communication to understand requirements and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or years of experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, information technology systems, or a related/equivalent field.
- Certified AWS Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience architecting technology solutions in cloud environments.
- Certified AWS Solutions Architect Professional.
- 5–10 years of experience overseeing IC technology projects or similar experience.
- SDLC and/or Dev Sec Ops experience.
- Master’s Degree or higher in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, information technology/systems or equivalent.
