Overview
The Maritime System Solutions Portfolio within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, technical, and customer-focused Maritime Undersea Technology Specialist to join the Leidos team in Suitland, MD. This role supports US Navy Intelligence by providing expert analysis on existing and future undersea system capabilities, industry technology development, and operational methodologies. You will support a multidisciplinary team developing advanced maritime technologies, from prototype design to full-scale system deployment for ongoing Navy missions.
Analysis will cover domestic and international undersea technology systems (manned & unmanned vehicles, underwater navigation systems, acoustic & optical imaging systems), and may include research and attendance at selected maritime technology conferences, briefing senior leadership, and engagement with national and international partners on maritime technology. The candidate shall possess expertise in underwater technologies to conduct all-source intelligence analysis focused on existing and emerging maritime technology capabilities.
- Unmanned undersea vehicles
- Manned submersibles
- Seafloor imaging sensors (acoustic & optical)
- Undersea vehicle navigation and positioning
- Possess expertise in analyzing capabilities, readiness, and operations of maritime vessels that employ underwater technologies.
- Document analysis and assessments in various memoranda, technical reports, and/or briefings to be presented to the customer and/or designated customer audiences.
- Attend designated underwater technology conferences (nominally 3x per year) and collect pertinent information as directed.
- Conference attendance details documented in a trip report highlighting collection opportunities and significant information and materials obtained (e.g., technical research papers, brochures).
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years working as a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) technician.
- Current TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility
- Ability to brief senior leaders and customers without the support of a manager in attendance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Background in foreign maritime analysis.
- Knowledge of deep-sea technology industry, ocean systems engineering, and deep-sea operations a plus.

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
