Overview
Licensed Surgical Veterinary Technician - Anesthesia Our surgical team at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is rapidly growing and we are looking for a talented and motivated Surgery and Anesthesia Technician to join us.
Responsibilities- Work with brilliant and caring board certified surgeons
- Be a part of a team of technicians and surgeons that have a positive and engaged culture
- Provide high quality patient care
- Place arterial and central lines, urinary catheters, and NG tubes
- Administer local and regional anesthesia
- Perform critical care anesthesia, including mechanical ventilation and TIVA
- Surgical preparation
- Client interaction and education during initial consultations and dismissals
- Bandage application and changes
- Orthopedics and Arthroscopy
- Regular and complex soft tissue
- Interventional radiology
- Oncologic
We are looking for an LVT, VTS or an LVT on track to become a VTS in anesthesia. We value independent, intelligent, patient-first technicians with outstanding technical and critical thinking skills who promote a culture of teamwork, mentorship, willingness to learn, and positivity.
Requirements: LVT with at least 4 years of experience in a specialty surgery and anesthesia setting and knowledge about specialty surgical procedures, surgical assisting experience, instrumentation knowledge, and the ability to independently run up to level 5 ASA anesthesia cases. A background in training junior staff is desired.
