Position Overview
The Control Panel Technician will be responsible for installing, wiring, and assembling various electronic components, ensuring quality and precision in every step. The technician will work closely with other team members to complete control panels, ensuring all components are correctly wired and meet the specifications outlined in blueprints, manuals, and schematics.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret instructions, manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Layout, mount, and wire electrical components in custom PLC panels.
- Drill and tap metal backplanes for component installation.
- Collect and organize necessary materials and equipment.
- Take precise measurements to fit components properly.
- Perform quality checks on final assemblies.
- Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
- Record production quantities, time, and progress.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure project completion on schedule.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Test and inspect components for quality control compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years as an electrical technician or related field.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Understanding of quality control principles and practices.
- Experience with layout and wiring of custom PLC panels preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with standard power and hand tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment, exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to climb stairs, kneel, or crouch to access equipment or retrieve materials.
