As the Redevelopment Planning Manager, you will:
- Lead and execute citywide and neighborhood-specific redevelopment planning initiatives, aligning with the City's Land Use Plan and overarching redevelopment strategy.
- Drive high-impact strategic projects, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously with agility and vision.
- Develop and spearhead community engagement and education campaigns to build momentum for redevelopment efforts, including public meetings and stakeholder outreach.
- Facilitate negotiations for Development Agreements to advance transformative projects.
- Conduct data-driven analysis, prepare reports, and contribute to strategic redevelopment initiatives.
- Collaborate with developers and property owners to accelerate investment and revitalization efforts.
- Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to streamline redevelopment-led projects, ensuring planning policies are grounded in economic development/market considerations and infrastructure and capital investment priorities.
- Serve as a key resource for citizens, developers, and stakeholders, providing insights on redevelopment initiatives.
- Deliver and present clear, engaging reports and public presentations to City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, boards, and community groups.
- Oversee consultant engagements, ensuring project success through performance, budget, and schedule management.
- Guide and mentor team members, optimizing workflow to achieve departmental goals.
- Enhance digital and public communications related to redevelopment initiatives.
- Apply independent judgment and a commitment to excellence in all responsibilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning or related field from an accredited school or university is required. A Master's Degree in Urban Planning or a related field is preferred.
- Five years of work experience in Urban Planning at the local level, either in the public or the private sector.
- At least three years supervisory experience required.
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
- Membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or the ability to obtain membership within one year is required
