Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Sugarland, Texas. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in collections, account reconciliation, and cash applications, along with a strong proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

- Manage commercial and consumer collections, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding payments.

- Execute credit and collections processes to minimize overdue accounts and improve cash flow.

- Handle billing collections, including reviewing invoices and resolving discrepancies with clients.

- Process cash applications and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial records.

- Conduct detailed account reconciliations to identify and address variances.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to streamline collections efforts.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create and maintain reports on collections performance.

- Support B2B collections by maintaining strong detail-oriented relationships with business clients.

- Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to prioritize collection activities.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations in all collections activities. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, including both commercial and consumer accounts.

- Proficiency in credit and collections processes, with a proven ability to reduce outstanding balances.

- Strong knowledge of billing collection practices and cash application procedures.

- Experience in account reconciliation and identifying financial discrepancies.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

- Familiarity with B2B collections and maintaining client relationships.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
