Job Overview

The Coordinator for Instructional Coaches serves as a district-level instructional leader responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of instructional coaching across elementary and secondary campuses. This role ensures that instructional coaches are consistently aligned with district instructional goals, equipped with the skills and support necessary to enhance teacher practice, and focused on driving student achievement. The Coordinator designs and implements coaching systems, leads professional development, evaluates coaching impact, and embeds coaching as a systemic lever for instructional improvement and school transformation.

This is a Title 1 funded position.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership of Instructional Coaching Program
  • Establish a unified coaching program aligned to the district’s instructional priorities, curriculum standards, and school improvement goals.
  • Define instructional coaching program goals, success criteria, and accountability structures to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all campuses.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive instructional coaching framework that outlines clear expectations, roles, and performance metrics for instructional coaches
  • Ensure coherence and alignment of instructional coaching practices with instructional frameworks, curriculum initiatives, and district priorities.
  • Continuously refine the instructional coaching framework based on research, data, and district needs.
  • Champion instructional coaching as a driver of continuous school improvement and teacher development.
  • Collaborate with district leadership to embed coaching into strategic planning, accountability systems, and educator evaluations.
  • Ensure the coaching program is adaptable to evolving district needs and instructional demands.
  • Foster strong relationships with campus leaders and instructional coaches to create a collaborative learning environment.
  • Support instructional coaches and campus leaders in planning and pacing lessons, selecting best practices, and utilizing data for instructional decisions.
Coaching Framework Development and Implementation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching model that outlines clear expectations, roles, and performance metrics.
  • Align coaching practices with instructional frameworks, curriculum initiatives, and district strategic goals.
  • Continuously refine the coaching framework using research, data, and feedback from campuses.
Program Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Design and facilitate ongoing, high-quality professional learning aligned with adult learning theory and coaching best practices.
  • Build instructional leadership capacity among coaches to support teacher growth, model effective teaching, and lead campus-based training.
  • Monitor coaching development outcomes and adjust learning plans to meet district-wide needs.
Advocacy and Systemic Integration
  • Lead the collection, analysis, and use of data to evaluate coaching effectiveness on instruction and student performance.
  • Use data insights to inform program adjustments, close instructional gaps, and scale successful strategies.
  • Report progress and outcomes to district leadership and participate in decision‑making processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between instructional coaches, campus leaders, and district departments to align coaching efforts with broader instructional goals.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration and foster a culture of shared learning and high trust across campuses.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Make recommendations for hire in alignment with Human Resources Protocols and procedures
  • Conduct the performance appraisals of assigned staff in alignment with Human Resources protocols and procedures
  • Supervise and support instructional coaches through regular monitoring, observation, feedback, and performance evaluation.
  • Provide structured opportunities for professional reflection and growth through individual and team coaching cycles.
