About This RoleDo you believe personalized reading intervention surpasses scripted lessons, and that AI makes personalization achievable at scale? Alpha School is seeking educators to deliver an AI‑powered reading program that redefines early literacy instruction. You will facilitate focused, high‑impact workshops instead of conventional hour‑long sessions. Your work includes diagnosing the needs of K‑2 learners, developing original evidence‑based lesson plans without preset curricula, and contributing to adaptive tools that extend your impact to hundreds of students.
We need reading specialists who excel in flexible environments and are motivated to advance scalable literacy solutions.
- Conducting adaptive reading workshops for children ages 4‑7, building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Crafting personalized, motivational instruction that engages students and fosters a lasting appreciation for reading
- Evaluating student performance data to iteratively improve instructional strategies and generate actionable insights
- Partnering with technology teams to assess and refine AI‑powered literacy platforms
- Following pre‑scripted curricula or predetermined scope‑and‑sequence frameworks
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate a passion for reading in early learners
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (examples include Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years delivering small‑group reading interventions to students in early elementary grades
- Demonstrated ability to assess reading proficiency, organize student groups, and create differentiated lesson plans independent of published curricula
- Comfortable using AI and adaptive learning technologies, with ability to respond to student engagement patterns
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements

Working with usThis is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position.
