The Department of Strategic and Government Affairs is seeking a full-time Executive Assistant to the City Council Liaison.

The Executive Assistant will provide highly detailed technical and administrative support to the Mayor and City Council under the direction of the Council Liaison in a fast‑paced environment. They will assist with the development and implementation of City programs, policies, and procedures by providing comprehensive administrative support, research and respond to inquiries, and proactively manage the daily operations of the City Council office while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

We pay our Executive Assistant a starting salary of $66,019 – $75,920 depending on your qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Process and complete detailed forms, correspondence and reports as directed by the City Council Liaison.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Build and maintain professional stakeholder relationships through a consistently positive and professional demeanor, ensuring effective collaboration and results.
  • Maintain calendar for Mayor and Council members, schedule meetings and ensure City Clerk’s Office receives required information for quorum notice postings, as necessary.
  • Organize, manage and review City Council inquiries and requests; prepare status reports and related documentation.
  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure deadlines and schedules are met; manage one‑on‑one agendas for quarterly meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison for communications between City Council and staff as needed.
  • Assist with responding to citizen concerns and service requests in a timely manner; prepare written correspondence as needed.
  • Regular attendance on‑site is required.
  • Stay abreast of, and comply with, all City and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director or Supervisor.
  • Required to work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster, whether natural or acts of war.
Qualifications Formal

Education:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
Relatable

Work Experience:
  • Four years secretarial/administrative experience required.
  • Municipal experience is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience demonstrating acceptable proficiency in the required knowledge and skills may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements.
Training (License and/or Certification):
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
