Job Overview

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.

Our organization has identified potential earned income revenue streams and is seeking a business strategist to evaluate their feasibility and sustainability. The strategist will assess each stream based on market demand, competition, costs, scalability and potential risks, and determine if they are sustainable long‑term and align with our values and capacity.

The strategist will define financial goals for the earned income strategy, such as revenue targets or profit margins, determine the pricing structure for products or services, and ensure the strategy covers all relevant costs (production, marketing, overhead, personnel). They will also provide strategic recommendations on paid executive staff, international expansion, program fees, and mission impact.

We have already identified several revenue streams where our nonprofit has expertise and can potentially offer products or services that align with our mission. We also have identified our target audiences and understand their needs and preferences. We will supply the strategist with financial information, including the operating budget.
