Waste & Decommissioning Technician (BR-126)

We would like to welcome individuals to the team that have the technical knowledge and experience to ensure safe and compliant operations.”

Please note the working hours are 07.25 – 17.00, Monday to Thursday, perfect for someone looking for a four-day working week.

• Undertake Waste Management duties within own level of demonstrated competence including; packaging, transportation and collection.
• Undertake advanced Health Physics monitoring duties, monitoring plant and equipment, as required within own level of demonstrated competence.
• Operate waste volume reduction equipment within his/her level of demonstrated competence.
• Provide support for routine maintenance for waste management related equipment.
• Dismantle and remove hazardous structures, materials, cables, equipment, etc.
• Update signage and control of waste management controlled lay down areas and containers
• The post holder may be required to carry out additional identified roles as necessary (e.g. operate cranes, drive forklift trucks, perform rigging duties).

• Appropriate technical qualification e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC, NVQ (NQF Level
  2) OR relevant experience (essential).
• Experience of working in an industrial environment (essential).
• Experience of working in waste management and/or industrial waste (desirable).
• Knowledge of radiological matters and nuclear safety standards (desirable).
• Authorised for forklift and telehandler (desirable).
