Job OverviewAs a Retail Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and be the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed.
Salary and Schedule DetailsSalary ranges from $14.00 to $14.50 per hour depending on skills and experience. This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule. Average weekly hours are 6‑10 hours. Availability during the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
Responsibilities- Day‑to‑day engagement:
Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products both inside and outside the Hallmark department. Communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and answer surveys for required merchandising activities. Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers. Be responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores. - Holiday support:
During the lead‑up to and following major holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) expect additional days and extended hours. You may be required to work on the actual holiday or on surrounding weekends. - Department resets:
Occasionally join a team responsible for installations and other tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. You will be notified at least two weeks in advance; assignments may include evenings or weekends. - Team support:
As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who often support other team members as needed in their territories.
This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds, and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the workday, and may need to climb stairs or use step ladders.
BasicQualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Can grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to operate a digital hand‑held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
- Has access to Wi‑Fi and the Internet.
- Has consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
