Truestone, LLC is seeking a dependable Laborer to support shipboard installation, material handling, and logistics activities under the Navy's CTII program at Newport News Shipyard. This role provides hands‑on support to technicians and engineers performing Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) installation and integration work aboard active naval vessels.
The ideal candidate is safety‑minded, reliable, and comfortable working in an industrial shipyard environment while supporting mission‑critical Navy modernization efforts.
Responsibilities- Support shipboard installation teams with material handling and staging
- Move, load, unload, and organize equipment, tools, and materials
- Assist technicians during installation, removal, and modification activities
- Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with shipyard requirements
- Follow all Newport News Shipyard (NNSY), Navy, and Truestone safety procedures
- Properly handle Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and contractor‑owned material
- Perform basic labor tasks including lifting, carrying, and positioning equipment
- Support warehouse and logistics activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned in support of project execution
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Ability to work in confined spaces, ladders, and shipboard environments
- Willingness to comply with all safety, security, and badging requirements
- Must be able to pass background checks required for NNSY access
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Prior shipyard, construction, industrial, or military experience
- Familiarity with Newport News Shipyard or Navy environments
- Experience supporting technicians or skilled trades
- Forklift or material handling experience (not required)
