The Role:In this pivotal Senior Manager/Director role within our Tax department, you will play a key role in leading our Private Client Tax services for a diverse range of clients across Norfolk and Suffolk. You will drive strategic direction, manage a complex client portfolio, mentor team members, and actively contribute to business growth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Technical
- Deliver advanced tax advisory and planning services, including statutory residence tests, residency issues, CGT, IHT, trusts, and estate/succession planning.
- Take full ownership of a complex portfolio of HNWIs, UHNWIs, and private clients, ensuring exceptional service and proactive advice.
- Act as the one of the firm’s leading authorities for tax planning tailored to medical professionals, including NHS pension complexities and income structures.
- Review and sign off high-risk tax returns and related documents, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
- Maintain expert knowledge of emerging tax legislation and technical developments, proactively managing engagement risks.
General
- Develop and mentor the private client tax team, including managers, trainees, and assistants, fostering professional growth and consistency with firm values.
- Oversee work planning across the team and ensure deadlines are met.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives and act as an ambassador for M+A Partners internally and externally.
- Take ownership of risk management policies and ensure compliance across all engagements.
- Manage portfolio financial performance, including fee quoting, WIP management, invoicing, and achieving revenue targets.
Business Development
- Actively seek opportunities to grow the private client tax offering and expand market presence.
- Represent the firm at seminars, networking events, and industry forums, building strong referral networks.
- Prepare proposals for new work and collaborate with Partners on strategic growth initiatives.
- Maintain a deep understanding of clients’ affairs to identify planning opportunities and cross‑sell other services.

Qualifications:CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (minimum); STEP highly desirable.
Experience:- Substantial post‑qualification experience in a reputable practice environment.
- Expertise in complex tax advisory work for HNWIs.
- Proven leadership in managing and inspiring high‑performing teams.
- Experience of overseeing and reviewing the work of team members.
- Strong business development skills, acumen and commercial awareness.
- Proven ability to quickly adapt to shifting deadlines and priorities.
- Capable of collaborating effectively and adapting within a team environment.
- Proven ability to respond appropriately to risks.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced Excel, Word and familiarity with tax/accounting software.
