- Support attorneys throughout the estate planning process, from initial client meetings through final document execution
- Draft, organize, and revise estate planning documents, including:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Powers of attorney
- Advance medical directives and healthcare proxies
- Deeds, declarations of homestead, and trust-funding documents
- Meet with clients and communicate professionally to gather information, explain next steps, and ensure a smooth planning experience
- Assist with trust funding by coordinating asset transfers and preparing related documentation
- Conduct legal research related to estate planning strategies, tax considerations, and applicable statutes
- Prepare, organize, and maintain client files with accuracy and attention to detail
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and other professionals to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded
- Help deliver a consistently high-quality client experience that reflects Hook Law’s commitment to clarity, comfort, and confidence
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred
- Prior experience as an Estate Planning Paralegal or in a closely related legal role strongly preferred
- Strong drafting skills and comfort working with detailed legal documents
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters at once
- Professional, empathetic communication style when working with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
- High ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
- A willingness to learn, grow, and adapt in a fast-paced, client-focused law firm
