Position DescriptionWe are seeking a senior-level IS/IT Subject Matter Expert (Level V) to support a mission-critical Dev Sec Ops pipeline, core infrastructure, and data center environment supporting joint training systems. This role focuses on Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities, cybersecurity compliance, and accreditation support for complex DoD systems. This is a 100% onsite role and requires deep expertise in RMF, eMASS, DISA security controls, and accreditation lifecycle support.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, documentation expertise, and experience supporting DoD major systems or programs in highly regulated environments.
- Implement, test, and validate security controls based on system security categorizations, control overlays (e.g., privacy, classified, intelligence), and tailored control sets (e.g., AI, NOFORN).
- Conduct active and passive data reconnaissance and develop accurate, auditable Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) with clear mitigation strategies and milestone tracking.
- Develop and maintain all required A&A documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Plans (SAP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), and related artifacts.
- Execute accreditation lifecycle activities within eMASS, including quarterly IV&V, STIG compliance checks, Annual Security Reviews (ASR), monthly POA&M updates, and ATO/ATC/IATC/IATT submissions.
- Maintain DISA circuit connections (CCSDs), manage security inheritance from accredited systems and cloud service providers, and ensure accreditation workflows remain on schedule.
- Support cybersecurity compliance efforts across infrastructure, Dev Sec Ops pipelines, and enterprise systems in accordance with DoD and DISA requirements.
- Master’s degree or 10+ years of relevant experience in IS/IT, cybersecurity, or data/system architecture roles.
- Minimum 5 years supporting DoD major systems or programs.
- Proven experience with RMF, A&A, eMASS, STIGs, POA&Ms, and compliance documentation.
- Strong background in data/system architecture, security control validation, and accreditation support.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and contribute to high-quality, mission-focused technical outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (required).
