Sentara Louise Obici Hospital is a 175‑bed state‑of‑the‑art facility located on Godwin Boulevard in Suffolk, VA. As a Magnet hospital and accredited Primary Stroke Center, the hospital provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a wide range of specialties.

• The ED Technician assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing care plans for emergency/minor emergency care patients.
• Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

• Minimum Education:
  
  HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Certification/Licensure: BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience:
  
  Clinical experience (Required);
  De‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
• New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum education:
  • EMT‑B with state or national certification at time of hire.
  • Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates.
  • Current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.
• Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code within the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the above criteria.
