Shift: Third (Night), 7 PM – 7 AM, 3 × 12‑hour shifts (36 hr / week) with rotating weekends.

Department Overview: The Stroke/Telemetry Unit is a 25‑bed service that manages patients with cardiac conditions, acute stroke, and post‑procedural neuro cases. A typical patient‑to‑tech ratio is 1:5, while techs work under a 1:8 nurse ratio. The unit supports both new graduates and seasoned nurses seeking to develop advanced cardiac skills. Patient Care Technician Duties:

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfer of care
• Provide hands‑on patient care under a licensed RN or LPN
• Monitor patients’ physical, mental, and emotional status; report changes to nursing staff
• Execute delegated nursing tasks such as gathering specimens, turning/positioning patients, and basic wound care
• Support telemetry monitoring and stroke unit protocols
• Maintain all patient‑safety practices and infection‑control procedures

Education & Experience:

• High‑school graduate or equivalent
• Preferred:
  One year of health‑care experience

Certifications/Licensure:

• American Heart Association BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Optional:
  Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), or relevant military corps‑school credential
