Engineering Technician II Suffolk, VA Posted
The Engineering Technician II will perform technical assignments involving the installation and routing of shipboard electronic systems and cabling infrastructure aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). This role focuses on the execution of site preparation, equipment mounting, and assisting senior technicians with system integration during the RCOH period.
Responsibilities- Install and route cables through shipboard transit systems and cableways.
- Perform terminations and labeling in accordance with technical manuals and SIDs.
- Assist in the mechanical installation of racks, foundations, and hardware components.
- Support site preparation and maintain a safe, organized work environment within the shipyard.
- Support EA Tech III personnel with testing and basic troubleshooting of installed systems.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial, construction, or maritime environment. - Clearance:
Must possess or be able to obtain a Public Trust. - Technical
Skills:
Solid familiarity with hand/power tools and the ability to follow detailed technical instructions in a loud, high-tempo environment.
Qualifications:
- Clearance: A current Public Trust is a plus. An active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher is a plus.
- Preferred
Certifications:
Maritime OSHA 10-Hour, NAVSEA Cableway Certification.
