Data Engineer

Overview

Agilis Search is proud to be partnering with an established and evolving business in Bury St Edmunds who are looking for a Data Engineer on a permanent basis in a newly created role. As Data Engineer in this people-focused organisation, you will be responsible for the full data lifecycle for key business data, including customers, suppliers, products, users, accounts, and cost centres.

Your role is to make sure this data is accurate, up to date, and approved as the single source of truth for the ERP system and company reporting.

This is a hybrid working role with additional flexibility around working hours if required.

• Design, build, and improve the data platform
• Run and support the platform day to day
• Use the Microsoft data platform to collect data from different legacy ERP systems
• Combine and clean this data into one trusted golden record
• Make sure master data is accurate, secure, and well governed
• Provide high-quality data for our group-wide ERP system
• Support enterprise reporting and analytics across the business

• 3+ years data engineering experience
• 2+ years hands-on Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory pipelines, Lakehouse) or Azure Synapse
• Proven experience extracting and consolidating master data from multiple ERPs
• PySpark and/or T-SQL
• Understanding of Delta Lake, medallion architecture and lakehouse patterns
• Understanding of data quality, data governance, and best practices
• Ability to design clear, reliable, and scalable data solutions
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication and the ability to work with different teams
