SAIC is looking for Network Administrators with experience in US Navy IT networks to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network, ensuring 24/7/365 availability and reliability. The position will support end-to-end network, system, and element visibility; facilitate rapid operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning to maintain the operational integrity of a mission‑critical network, requiring both technical expertise and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.

This position is onsite in Suffolk, VA.

• Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to quickly identify, triage, and address outages, analyzing symptoms and potential root causes to implement effective resolutions or escalates to Tier 3 support as required.
• Utilize advanced monitoring tools and processes to oversee network infrastructure, monitor the performance and availability of managed services and systems across multiple exchange points, and ensure optimal performance.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, software and hardware updates, and deployments.
• Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations.
• Operate and maintain the privileged access solutions.
• Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures.
• Operate and maintain the hardware upgrade process and procedures.
• Update and maintain any software builds applicable to deployed equipment.
• Enact change management for the solution.
• Operate and maintain existing incident management processes.
• Keep firmware, software updates and patches up to date for equipment.
• Support the design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
• Support analysis of short/long‑term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission and signaling.
• Conduct testing of network systems.
• Support the evaluation of new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and two (2) years relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure.
  • Additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

• Active TS/SCI.

• Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP); access control lists; layer 2 switching; spanning tree; packet analysis; spine‑leaf architecture.
• Experience with the following is a plus:
  Arista switches;
  Palo Alto firewalls; TAP and network visibility (i.e., Gigamon, Net Scout); SD‑WAN and spine‑leaf architecture; working with VLANs and VRFs; configuring IPSEC tunnels; and troubleshooting routing issues.
• Working knowledge of SD‑WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and virtual private network devices.
• Understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting.
• Capable of supporting TACACS+ on Cisco ISE and ISE Cube.

• IAT Level II required (Sec +); CCNA/CCNP, six‑month waiver authorized to obtain.

• Experience with SVLAN (Service VLAN) configuration and management.
• Experience with Arista Cloud Vision Portal.

• Must be able to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment.
