The Engineering Technician I will provide technical support for the installation and routing of shipboard electronic systems and cabling infrastructure aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). This role is focused on supporting senior technicians with site preparation, cable pulling, and basic hardware mounting during the RCOH availability.
Responsibilities- Support the routing and pulling of cables through designated shipboard transit systems.
- Assist in basic terminations and the labeling of cable runs under supervision.
- Help with the transport and mechanical mounting of hardware, foundations, and racks.
- Ensure work sites are clear of debris and compliant with shipyard safety regulations.
- Assist EA Tech II and III personnel with site preparation and material staging.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED. - Experience:
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an industrial, construction, or maritime setting. - Clearance:
Must possess or be able to obtain a Public Trust. - Preferred
Certifications:
Maritime OSHA 10-Hour, NAVSEA Cableway Certification. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity with basic hand/power tools and the ability to work in physically demanding shipyard environments.
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher that is an asset.
