Job Responsibilities- Accountable to the Fire Safety Supervisor and the Fire and Emergency Preparedness Lead for the performance of the deliverables listed below.
- Promote and support the development of a positive fire safety culture among MEHA employees and stakeholders.
- Intervening where shortfalls in fire safety have been identified and assist in the rectification of standards to allow safe continuation of works.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of fire safety systems, procedures, and policies.
- Conduct fire safety audits, inspections to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the on-site Fire & Rescue Team by providing risk information and operational support.
- Champion continuous improvement in fire safety practices and systems across the construction site.
- Uphold Fire & Rescue standards and actively promote Health and Safety excellence.
- Provide localised support at area level and advocate for communities of best practice within the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the NNB site processes and procedures relating to fire safety to ensure advice and guidance provided to MEHA operations are compliant with NNB requirements.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to MEHA operational areas in matters relating to fire safety.
- Ensure fire safety standards are maintained across all areas of the construction site where MEHA are responsible.
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and NNB project-specific requirements.
- Provide expert fire safety advice to MEH teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Act as a point of contact for fire safety queries and support across the project.
- Promote a proactive and positive fire safety culture throughout the site.
- Engage with contractors and delivery teams to embed fire safety awareness and best practices.
- Conduct regular fire safety audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Document findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Support fire risk assessment completion with assessors across the site, ensuring risks are identified, evaluated, and mitigated effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure assessments are reviewed and updated as required.
- Provide data and insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Provide operational support and risk information to the on-site Fire & Rescue Team.
- Collaborate to ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are robust and effective.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in fire safety practices and systems.
- Lead or contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing fire safety performance across the project.
- Share knowledge and lessons learned to drive consistency and excellence across
- Provide localised support at area level and advocate for communities of best practice within the organisation.
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, or
- Certificate in Fire Safety LVv4 (Fire Auditors), or
- Diploma in Fire Safety Lv4 (Fire Inspector), or
- CIOB Certificate in Fire Safety in Construction
- Fire Risk Assessment Certification Level 3
NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, or - Certificate in Fire Safety LVv4 (Fire Auditors), or
- Diploma in Fire Safety Lv4 (Fire Inspector), or
- CIOB Certificate in Fire Safety in Construction

- Previous experience of fire safety in the construction industry or other high risk/complex environments.
