Colony Tire is currently seeking a full-time Automotive Service Technician to join our team! Our technicians work for competitive pay in a fast-paced environment. Summary

Employee will be required to perform tire and auto-related service as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (Base)
  • Follow established procedures to inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Document work performed accurately and according to company policy.
  • Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks and/or automotive lifts.
  • Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to vehicles, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Mount and dismount tires onto wheels.
  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply.
  • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels.
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
  • Rotate tires to different positions on vehicles.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as but not limited to oil changes, and lubrications.
  • Road test cars as directed by management.
  • Pull vehicles in and out of shop safely.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities (Retail Service)
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair automotive issues including, but not limited to, engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems accurately.
  • Provide customers with accurate service recommendations based on diagnostics and inspections.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and meets safety standards and Colony Tire’s quality expectations.
  • Maintain clean and organized work spaces, adhering to Colony Tire’s safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members regarding repairs, parts needs, and any additional service recommendations.
  • Follow up on repair orders and maintain detailed service records.
  • Stay up to date with new automotive technology, service procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns in a professional manner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Operation and Control – Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Operation Monitoring – Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

  • Extent Flexibility – The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with you body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Static Strength – The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Knowledge of commonly used tools – Ability to recognize and use a variety of tools, including but not limited to power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, machine tools, such as lathes and grinding machines, jack and hoists, and common hand tools.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment – Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, or passenger vehicles.
  • Performing General Physical Activities – Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material – Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
