Linear Recruitment is currently supporting a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor in the search for an experienced Planner to join their team delivering critical gas transmission infrastructure projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and coordinating complex, multi-site construction activities associated with high-pressure gas pipeline improvements and outage works. This role will involve developing and maintaining detailed project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and within demanding time frames.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, manage, and maintain detailed, resource-loaded project programmes for large-scale infrastructure works.
* Plan and coordinate complex construction activities across multiple work sites.
* Identify critical path activities and potential delays, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure programme alignment.
* Monitor project progress against baseline programmes and produce regular reports on milestones and delivery.
* Incorporate lessons learned from previous projects to improve planning and programme performance.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Planner within civil engineering, utilities, or major infrastructure projects.
* Strong experience planning complex projects with strict deadlines and multiple work streams.
* Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, logistics, and resource planning.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work effectively in fast-paced project environments.
Desirable
Experience:
* Experience working on gas transmission, pipeline, or major utilities projects.
* Familiarity with working in regulated infrastructure environments.
* Experience supporting projects linked to energy transition or decarbonisation initiatives.
