Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Technician to join their highways and infrastructure team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, travelling across the UK, and taking ownership of their work.

The Role

As a Technician, you will play a key role in inspecting and testing highway lighting assets, ensuring structural integrity, and supporting the safe operation of the UK’s road network. You’ll be field-based, visiting sites nationwide, and working independently while representing a trusted industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

* Precision Testing:
Conduct structural inspections, corrosion assessments, and condition testing on highway lighting columns.

* Data Integrity:
Record accurate test results using electronic systems.

* Compliance:
Work within UKAS-accredited systems to ensure all assets meet safety regulations.

* Asset Management:
Assist in identifying, recording, and managing highway assets.

* Client Representation:
Liaise professionally with clients, site teams, and colleagues.

* Health & Safety:
Execute all tasks in line with strict H&S and industry standards.

Who We’re Looking For

* Proven experience testing street lighting assets, particularly using dip stick systems.

* Valid HERS ECS Card and HEA NVQ Level 2 qualification.

* Strong technical knowledge of Highways Electrical systems and H&S legislation.

* Excellent independent work ethic and clear communication skills.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.
