Role Summary
Tutor & Holistic Educator (Suffolk, Norfolk & Essex) – Lapwing Education. Permanent, Full Time. Salary £27,430 – £42,084 depending on skills/experience (term time only).
Location:
East of England. Closing Date: 26th February 2026.
Lapwing is a specialist education provider and charity currently expanding in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, working with young people (aged 4‑25 years old) facing exclusion from education, employment and the community through social, emotional, behavioural or learning difficulties and disabilities. Lapwing delivers a broad range of highly personalised education programmes and projects that are designed to meet the needs of, and help realise the aspirations of, each student.
Responsibilities- Provide best practice holistic support to young people with special educational needs, working out of home within a 30‑mile range of your location.
- Deliver academic, vocational, life skills and/or employability based programmes in both 1:1 and very small group settings.
- Use creative teaching approaches and robust assessment to meet individual student needs.
- Support the development of therapeutic and coaching capabilities for students with complex needs.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the charity’s growth and career progression opportunities.
- Maintain mileage records and claim reimbursement for travel.
- Outstanding teacher with teaching, assessing and working experience with young people with special educational needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learners.
- Willingness and ability to drive to work with students.
- Enhanced DBS check and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Full‑time position (part‑time appointments available at a minimum of 0.8 FTE).
- Peripatetic education programmes predominantly delivered within 30 miles of home.
- Salary range £27,430 – £42,084 per annum. Mileage is reimbursed.
