Located in Suffield, CT, the plant is one of three Fluid Transfer Systems plants located in North America. Our 7‑day operation is a process manufacturing plant of PTFE tube and stainless steel‑braided hose used in a wide variety of sectors, including automotive, industrial, commercial vehicles and emerging products. The Manufacturing Engineers work with cross‑functional teams to provide technical support to the operations team, implement sustainable engineering solutions and look for innovative ways to enhance operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Working with the production teams, identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, reduce scrap and increase financial results
- Ensure that all Bills of Materials are updated and accurate in SAP
- Provide production with written work instructions to ensure drive consistency and quality, with a focus on Standardized Work and Visual Management
- Use lean methodology to drive innovation solutions
- Troubleshoot production problems and assist maintenance with complex machinery issues
- Take a lead role in driving Continuous Improvement Projects in assigned areas
- Assist New Product Development Engineers through Design of Experiments and being part of the APQP launch teams with a focus on Flow Diagrams, DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plans
- BS Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a production setting
- Must be able to work for any employer in the US without VIsa sponsorship
- Minimum 3 years experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing/industrial setting
- ISO/ IATF environment preferred
- Familiarity with 8D corrective process preferred
- Computer savvy including MS Office Suite and ERP, preferably SAP and Lighthouse
- Effective communication skills – both orally and written; must be comfortable communicating with all levels within the organization
- Must be well versed in Continuous Improvement methods (i.e. VSM, Standard Work, Mistake Proofing, etc)
- Excellent Time Management, Organizational and Attention to Details skills
