Keep the mine moving. We’re looking for a skilled Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician to join our underground service team in Sudbury. Reports to: General Supervisor
Shift: 5x2, Monday‑Friday
Allowances: This role is eligible for additional premiums
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: Up to 50% travel required for this role
Relocation: This role is not eligible for relocation

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and servicing on underground mining equipment including LHDs, haul trucks, jumbos, and bolters
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Replace or adjust components and parts to restore equipment performance
  • Work directly at customer sites, ensuring timely and effective service
  • Uphold and contribute to a strong safety‑first culture in every task
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal is an asset)
  • Proven experience with underground mining equipment is required
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
  • No restrictions for accessing any mine site
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted

    Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a results‑driven mindset
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
