Line Welder​/Machinist; Schedules

Toromont Cat is looking for a Line Boring Welder/Machinist to join our team! A Welder/Machinist plays an important role in our Service department providing technical expertise to ensure superior customer service in the repair, fabrication of parts and structures in our shop.

Shift premiums may apply.

• 7 days on x 7 days off (12 hours)
• 4 x 10 hours

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives.
• Operate electric, acetylene, and semi‑automatic welding and automatic burning equipment effectively and efficiently.
• Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches.
• Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within established time standards in the field.
• Restore damaged steel and cast‑iron components by welding, disassembling, and assembling relative components.
• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication.
• Maintain and build strong customer relations.

• Experience with line‑boring (huge asset).
• Post‑secondary education in welding or conventional machining.
• 3 years of professional experience with GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW techniques.
• CWB or Canadian Red Seal certification (asset).
• Must live within drivable proximity to Sudbury (no accommodation provided).
