The On-Call Support Specialist provides supervision and leadership to Direct Support Professionals to ensure excellence in service delivery for service delivery in the evenings and on weekends. The On-Call Support Specialist will provide direction to staff as required to manage concerns and crisis situations as they arise. The On-Call Support Specialist works remotely and travels from their home office to various service locations within the district as required.
The On-Call Support Specialist will respect and uphold the Values, Vision, and Mission of Karis Disability Services, demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and respect in their dealings with other employees, persons supported and both internal and external stakeholder.
Experience:
3 years in the Developmental Sector
Education:
DSW or equivalent
- Full G driver's license
- Leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Advanced computer proficiency (MS 360, Human Resource Information System (UKG))
- Emergency First Aid and CPR (
* Safe Management will be considered an asset)
- Responding to crisis situations
- Provide assistance to service users (restraints etc)
- Ability to physically perform the duties as outlined by the Physical Demands Analysis or program-specific requirements
- This is an almost 100% 'remote' working position; incumbent is only expected to come on-site once quarterly (
* at own expense) - Occasional travel within the district
- Reliable personal transportation required to attend sites for emergencies and when direct support is required
- Irregular hours, including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays
