This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely. It involves ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patients’ needs, documenting counseling information for all patients and providing a friendly, positive and proactive interaction with both internal and external customers. The role also creates awareness and educates customers through public relations activities.
Whatyou’ll do
- Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and timely for patients.
- Ensure medication and over the counter supplement inventory levels are adequate to meet patients’ needs.
- Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive and proactive manner.
- Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.).
- Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and doctors’ requests/issues.
- Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary).
- Provide ongoing training for all new and existing Pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students, IPGs).
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacists license is a must.
- Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
- Excellent leadership and performance management skills.
- Proven ability to build the business using community‑based marketing strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including experience forming and executing action plans.
- Strong personal computing skills, with knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy Computer system an asset.
