What You’ll Do  As a Cyber Det & Underground EIS Specialist, you will lead the site implementation, support and ongoing use of Dyno’s Wireless Electronic Initiation System. You will support the Canadian Underground Electronic Initiation Systems (EIS) business and train and certify end users of EIS systems. Other duties include:
Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards, objectives and as well as acts, and regulations and the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety focus.
Provide product specialist knowledge and system support for Dyno Nobel’s UG Electronic Initiation Systems – Cyber Det 1, Blast Web I&II, Digi Shot Plus, Drift Shot
Lead the conversion to Cyber Det I at assigned site/s. This includes being responsible for:
Responsible for coordination, development and management of trials and conversion project plans
Liaise with Operations, Commercial and Dyno Consult personnel to ensure conversion is successful, requesting assistance as, and when, required
Liaising with the customer on all operational aspects of the trial/conversion
Implement risk management strategies prior to implementation if system to site
Lead the Cyber Det I Service component, through conducting Field Strength Surveys on an on-going basis and ensuring that good and reliable communication and signal strength is available
Confirm Charge plan with Mine Engineers for every blast and ensure all parameters are sufficient for the Cyber Det I system.
Assign the appropriate Encryption Keys to each blast and ensure compliance to the procedure.
Program & Activate Cyber Det I units with the correct Encryption Key at the underground workings and ensure the correct loading of each unit to the designate blast hole takes place.
Fire Blast with correct Encryption Key from the Surface Blast Controller and inspect outcome of blasts.
Ensure maintenance of equipment and that batteries are fully charged
Manage all product components and consumables on site:
Receivers, Batteries, Spiders, Lanyards, Taggers etc.
Assist and execute other electronics and conventional IS blasting when required.
What We’re Looking For   Bachelor Degree/Technical Diploma in Mining or Electronics and 3-5 years of experience OR 7+ Years Industry Related Experience strong hands-on knowledge & capability
Experience in facilitating product training
Explosives or blasting qualification e.g. Underground Common Core training or Explosives training preferred but not required
Ability to operate independently at remote sites and exhibit creative problem-solving skills
Ability to travel an estimated 60% of the time
Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
