We are currently seeking a Distribution Engineer to join our team. This is a non-union position based in Sudbury, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of distribution design and construction standards, as well as distribution equipment specifications.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Distribution system short-term and long-term growth and betterment planning.
- Assist in load flow and loss optimization analysis, fault level studies and fuse/relay coordination.
- Prepare reports to regulatory bodies such as the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) on matters pertaining to distribution system reliability, maintenance, and safety compliance.
- Support the development of planning, operating, maintenance and capital expenditure budgets for the distribution system.
The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications:
- A four-year University degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent by the Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Five years of experience working with utility distribution systems.
- A valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence is required.

Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc. offers a comprehensive benefit package, participation in the OMERS defined benefit pension plan, ongoing training and support with a salary range of $114,000 to $124,000.
