The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Mining Engineering Trainee to join our Mines Technical Services team at Copper Cliff Mine Complex in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

In This Position You Will
  • Interfacing with operations and maintenance teams, process engineering and facilities engineering to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluating project options & assess their feasibility based on safety, cost impact, product quality & operations.
  • Provide technical support to an existing team of geologists, mining engineers, and geotechnical engineers, performing technical services execution support.
  • Identify, analyze, recommend, and bring into action opportunities for safety, productivity, and cost improvements.
  • Develop skills related to the provision of engineering to Ontario Operations, maintaining a high level of professional conduct.
  • Follow Vale’s Safety Policy and Legislative Standards.
  • Demonstrate an obsession with safety and risk management and meet the requirements of all applicable safety plans.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience.
