Hexagon’s Integrated Machine Systems division is looking for a Design Technologist to join our team! The Design Technologist is responsible for preparing engineering designs, drawings and related technical information enabling machine control through Hexagons numerous product offerings.

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
• Develop and prepare design concepts.
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
• Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards.
• Produce detailed drawings and specifications using dedicated computer software (CAD) to produce design specifications.
• Review and understand machine schematics, operator manuals.
• Prepare electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings, material and equipment requirements from machine specifications, and standard layouts provided.
• Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
• Brainstorm as part of a team or developing design concepts using CAD and other traditional design tools.
• Review plans and write technical reports to meet project specifications.
• Ensure proper documentation of all work, products and relevant activities.
• Work with internal ERP software.
• Support field implementations when escalated.

• Post‑secondary diploma in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field.
• Experience working with an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset.

• Able to work in a collaborative, multi‑site, team environment.
• Confident Self‑starter.
• Detail oriented person able to follow complex instructions with a “first‑time right” attitude.
• Motivated by challenging work.

• Up to 10% Domestic travel.
