Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a CAD Designer - Highways and Roads, based in our Sudbury, ON, Canada office. This position is for a newly created position.
This is a full-time role expected to begin as soon as possible .
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Design and draft highway rehabilitation projects using 2D AutoCAD software.
Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, geometrics, drainage, utilities, signing, pavement markings, detours, and construction staging.
Prepare design quantities and cost estimates and provide technical support during tendering and construction.
Undertake design tasks under the supervision of a project manager or senior team member.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental planners, technologists, and administrative staff.
Monitor project plans and schedules.
Participate in meetings with internal staff, subconsultants, and clients.
Document meeting decisions and follow up on action items.
Contribute to technical reports and studies.
Collect and analyze data.
Commit to self-development and ongoing professional growth.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
1-5 years of experience in highway design.
1-5 years of experience using AutoCAD software.
Effective communication skills with project team members in an office environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proactive and reliable, with a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong technical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Knowledge of TAC, OTM, and MTO design procedures and standards.
Experience with MTO highway designs and standards is an asset.
Experience with Auto Cad Civil3D, Microstation, Open Roads Designer, or InRoads software is an asset.
Field and construction inspection experience is an asset.
OACETT Certification (C.Tech or C.E.T.) is an asset.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $55000 to $105000.
