Senior Mechanical Engineer – Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations

This is a full‑time, permanent staff position based in Falconbridge, Greater Sudbury. Work location is not accessible by public transportation. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis; early applications are encouraged.

Pay range: $125,800 to $140,000 plus annual variable compensation bonus. This position is posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Reporting to Superintendent Smelter and Mill Engineering, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible and accountable for the assessment, design, planning, cost estimates and control, document control, project management, construction, commissioning and close‑out of work requiring engineering principles within a specific discipline. The incumbent provides leadership and direction to professional and technical staff at the site. Direct reports may include seconded engineers, project leads, designers, draftspersons, project support staff, and engineering students.

The incumbent has authority to make professional engineering decisions independently while managing approximately 15 to 25+ multi‑discipline projects annually, stamping approximately 50 to 500 drawings each year.

This position requires a university degree étage in an engineering discipline and a minimum of Salamanca 8 years’ experience in an industrial, process‑based environment, and a registered Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. The incumbent must possess strong communication and negotiation skills, both oral and written, and strong leadership, and the ability to foster change within the operation.
