To meet our growth challenges, WSP’s Canadian team is currently seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery team, located in any of our Ontario or Quebec offices. WSP is a leader in the delivery of clean energy and Power sector solutions to meet the increasing demand for safe, secure, and sustainable energy for Canadians which requires a substantial expansion of the electricity transmission network.

• Lead technical aspects of transmission line design projects (34.5kV–500kV), including new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additions
• Prepare and review design deliverables, such as plan and profile drawings, material selection, and construction specifications
• Conduct quality reviews of internal and subcontractor deliverables
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects within budget and time constraints
• Evaluate technical options, criteria, and routes for design merit
• Apply knowledge of construction standards for high voltage line work
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure client satisfaction
• Act as Technical Project Management Lead and maintain strong client relationships
• Manage project reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable, and unbilled work
• Develop and monitor scope, schedules, and budgets against plan and contracts
• Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
• Serve as primary liaison between client and project team; understand client interests
• Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions for project success
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the project team
• Travel to client offices, field sites, or vendor facilities as required
• Support business development activities and participate in proposal preparation

• Civil (BSCE), Mechanical (BSME), or Electrical (BSEE) degree, from an accredited university
• At least ten (10) years experience in transmission design – design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction…
