Overview
Brown County is seeking energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic individuals to serve as ADVENTURE PARK SUMMER CAMP GUIDE at the NEW Zoo Adventure Park in Suamico, WI. This position plays a key leadership role in delivering safe, engaging, and educational summer camp experiences for youth while also supporting daily Adventure Park operations.
The Adventure Park features a ropes challenge course, dual racing 1,000-foot zip lines, a 32-foot climbing wall, a kids’ course, and The Neil Anderson Canopy Tour. As a Summer Camp Guide, you will supervise and guide campers through adventure-based activities, foster teamwork and confidence, and serve as a positive role model. In addition, you will assist with guest services and guiding responsibilities for the general public as needed.

Summer Camp Leadership- Lead and supervise summer camp participants, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
- Facilitate adventure-based activities and age-appropriate programming that promote teamwork, confidence, and personal growth.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for campers.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing daily camp schedules and activities.
- Manage camper behavior using positive guidance techniques.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents/guardians, and staff regarding daily activities and expectations.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or behavioral concerns following established procedures.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all Adventure Park guests, prioritizing safety at all times.
- Guide visitors through Adventure Park activities, providing clear instructions and encouragement.
- Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, both in person and over the phone.
- Sell admissions, concessions, and merchandise.
- Handle cash transactions and perform basic math.
- Facilitate equipment rentals and proper fitting of safety gear.
- Set up, inspect, and take down course equipment.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, cleaning, and general park upkeep as needed.
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships with co-workers, campers, and guests.
- Complete required records and reports as directed by a supervisor.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous experience working with children or in a camp, recreation, or outdoor education setting preferred.
- Must be able to complete required training and obtain Level 1 Site-Specific Certification sponsored by Brown County. Our park adheres to all ACCT training and safety standards.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended summer camp days.
- Capable of working in adverse outdoor conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain active for an entire 8-hour shift, including standing, walking, climbing, and assisting participants.
- Summer Camp Guides should expect to work various shifts as needed, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- The position can be physically demanding, requiring long workdays.

- Ability to manage groups of children in an active outdoor environment.
- Ability to wear a full-body harness and participate in physically demanding activities.
- Willingness and ability to learn and apply technical skills related to Adventure Park operations.

- Comfortable handling cash and performing basic math.
